Software Engineer

Software Engineer Location: Birmingham (3 days onsite) | Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 VIQU is recruiting a Software Engineer for a growing technology business building cloud-native platforms across AWS, IoT, and AI-powered solutions. The role sits within a small engineering team focused on delivering scalable, serverless systems that connect real-world infrastructure with modern backend services and applications. This is a backend-leaning full stack role, working primarily with TypeScript/Node.js in an AWS environment, with some frontend (React) exposure. You’ll take ownership of features from design through to deployment, working closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions Key Responsibilities Build and maintain backend services using TypeScript/Node.js Develop within an AWS environment (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB) Contribute to frontend development using React where required Own features end-to-end from design through to deployment Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to technical decisions Support CI/CD pipelines and improve system performance and scalabilit Key Requirements Experience as a Software Engineer / Full Stack / Backend Engineer Strong TypeScript/Node.js experience Hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB or similar) Experience building APIs and scalable backend systems Comfortable working across the stack (backend-focused) Experience with CI/CD and Docker Desirable React and TypeScript frontend experience Serverless or event-driven architecture experience Exposure to Python or Go Interest in AI/LLM tooling or IoT systems Please note: sponsorship is not available for this role.
