Deputy Head (Pastoral) - Independent Prep School (West London) Maternity Cover | Start Date: September 2026 A highly regarded independent preparatory school in West London is seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Head (Pastoral) to join their senior leadership team on a maternity cover basis from September 2026. This is a key leadership role within a school known for its nurturing environment, strong academic outcomes, and commitment to the wellbeing and personal development of every pupil. The Role: Lead on all aspects of pastoral care and pupil wellbeing across the school Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture Oversee behaviour, safeguarding, and pastoral systems Work closely with staff, pupils, and parents to ensure high standards of care and communication Support and contribute to the wider strategic leadership of the schoolThe Ideal Candidate Will: Have substantial experience in a pastoral leadership role, ideally within an independent or prep school setting Demonstrate strong knowledge of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing Be an empathetic, approachable, and confident leader Have excellent communication and organisational skills Hold relevant teaching qualificationsThe School Offers: A warm, supportive, and collaborative environment Engaged and well-behaved pupils A strong emphasis on staff wellbeing and development The opportunity to play a key role within an experienced leadership teamThis role would suit an experienced senior leader or an ambitious pastoral leader ready to step into a Deputy Head position within a highly respected independent school.
