Production Manager £48,000 to £53,000 per annum, dependant on experience + Company Benefits Commutable from Birmingham, Dudley, Stourbridge, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Walsall
An excellent opportunity for an experienced production manager looking to join a well-established, local company where you will play a key role in driving operational performance, continuous improvement, and team development.
The company are industry leaders in their sector and work with a range of reputable customers across the UK. They are currently looking for a Production Manager to join the team.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring KPIs across safety, quality, and delivery are consistently met. You will work closely with planning to achieve production targets and schedules, while leading and developing team leaders and shop floor staff through effective performance management and training. The role will involve driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives, monitoring performance and reporting on KPIs, and ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
This role would suit an experienced Production Manager with a background in manufacturing or fabrication who ideally understands the process of manipulating sheet metal (such as cutting, welding, painting) looking for a hands-on role with real responsibility and the opportunity to influence processes, culture, and long-term growth.
The Role:
- Overseeing daily production, ensuring KPIs across safety, quality, and delivery are met, working with planning to achieve production targets and schedules, leading and developing team leaders and shop floor staff, driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Monitoring performance, reporting on KPIs, and improving processes
- Ensuring health & safety compliance and promoting a safety-first culture
- 7:30am to 4pm Monday to Friday
The Person:
- Experienced Production Manager, preferable within the Engineering/fabrication industry
- Knowledge/understanding of sheet metal and associated processes
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to analyse performance data and report at management level
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across the business
