Location: London (home based, regional travel) Salary: £46,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per weekYour new companyA national organisation operating across the UK and Ireland is continuing to expand its high street and commercial estate. As part of this growth, they are strengthening their Facilities team and are now seeking an experienced Plumber to support multiple sites across London and the South of England.Your new roleAs a Plumber, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and testing of plumbing systems across a portfolio of sites. This is a mobile role, home based within London, requiring regular travel to operational locations.Key responsibilities include:
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of hot and cold water systems, heating systems, and drainage
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective remedial works
- Installing sanitary ware, pipework, valves, traps, and plumbing appliances
- Completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks
- Ensuring all works comply with health & safety legislation and building regulations
- Carrying out inspections, pressure testing, and commissioning of systems
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and maintenance documentation
- Liaising professionally with internal teams, contractors, and site stakeholders
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas to a high standard
- Participating in an on call or emergency call out rota where required
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will have:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plumbing or Plumbing & Heating
- Proven experience in domestic, commercial, or facilities environments
- Strong working knowledge of UK water regulations and health & safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
- Excellent fault finding and problem solving skills
- A valid CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to travel across London and occasionally wider regions
Desirable (but not essential):
- Gas Safe registration (ACS qualifications)
- Experience within facilities management or public sector buildings
- Knowledge of heating systems (boilers, heat pumps, underfloor heating)
- Legionella awareness or water hygiene training
- Experience using CAFM systems
- Additional trade skills (e.g. basic electrical, tiling, or joinery)
