SEMH Primary Teacher | Leicester (LE8) | Specialist SEMH Primary School | Teachers Pay Scale | Long-term to Permanent | Start Date September 2026
Long Term Futures are working with a specialist SEMH primary school in Leicester (LE8) seeking a dedicated and nurturing Class Teacher to join their team. The school supports pupils aged 5-11 with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing personalised education and strong pastoral support to help children overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes. We are looking for a resilient and compassionate individual who is committed to making a meaningful difference in the early development of young learners with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
Build positive, trusting relationships to support behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with the school's SEMH approach
Adapt learning to meet individual needs, including EHCP targets, and track pupil progress
Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to provide holistic support
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes wellbeing, inclusion, and personal developmentWhat We're Looking For
A genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs and early intervention
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience working with primary-aged pupils with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs is highly desirable
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
Ability to deliver creative, engaging lessons that support both academic and social development
Patient, resilient, and adaptable with a nurturing approach to teaching
