Mechanic / HGV Technician

A respected local authority with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, reliable and efficient fleet. You'll be joining a well‑established workshop team that supports essential public services across the region. As an HGV Mechanic, you'll carry out inspection, maintenance and repair work on a diverse fleet including HGVs, LGVs, plant equipment and specialist municipal vehicles. Conducting routine servicing, MOT preparation and safety inspections Diagnosing faults and completing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and local authority standards Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive workshop environment Time‑served HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician (or equivalent) Experience working on HGVs and/or municipal fleet vehicles HGV licence (desirable but not essential) Monday-Friday working pattern, 8:00am-4:30pm Competitive rate of pay Opportunity for long term work Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
