Electrician required ASAP

Job Title: Electrician Salary: £38,662 per annum + shift allowance + overtime We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as an Electrician. The role will be based in Glasgow and will require the successful candidate to be on site full time working a varied shift pattern (please see details below). The company is at the forefront of designing and building world-leading naval ships. Their work is vital to supporting the security and defence of nations around the globe and they pride themselves on delivering high-quality and innovative solutions. As part of a growing team, they are looking for a talented and experienced Electrician to join them in delivering eight Type 26 frigates to the Royal Navy. As an Electrician, you will play a key role in the installation of electrical systems on their state-of-the-art naval vessels. Their skilled electrical teams work on a variety of scope from advanced military communication systems and weapons systems to small power and lighting systems. There are 3 shifts available (although the successful candidate would start on a day shift and would then discuss with their manager if they would prefer a different shift) and the hours of work within each shift are highlighted below. Please note that both the night shift and the weekend shift will include a 33% shift allowance on top of the basic rate. Day Shift: Monday- Thursday 7.00am- 4.30pm Night Shift: Monday- Thursday 8.30pm- 6.00am Weekend Shift: Friday- Sunday 7am- 7.30pm Overtime is also available- please see rates of pay below in the ‘Benefits’ section. You will also be required to submit your trade certificates after an initial phone call with our recruiter. Installation of a variety of types of cables (multi-core, single- core and co-axial) & electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches etc.) Cable termination and installation of all electrical equipment Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation Collaborate with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of electrical installations Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards Shift allowance of 33% on both night and weekend shifts Overtime Pay rates are as follows: Monday- Thursday: 1.33 (Time and a 3rd) Saturday: 1.5 (Time and a half) Sunday: 2.00 (Double time) ~ Enhanced Pension scheme- up to 14% combined ~ Flexible working pattern including working from home/ flexible start and finish times ~25 holiday days plus bank holidays- 26 days after 5 years’ service/ 27 days after 10 years’ service ~ Shared Incentive Plan ~ Employee Assistance Programme ~ Cycle to Work Scheme ~ Life Assurance (you and your spouse/ partner)- 6 x salary ~ Ill Health Income Protection/ Private Medical Insurance- 50% of salary Relevant experience in a marine installation or major industrial installation environment Understanding all assessments, Risk, PUWER & COSHH Mounting of electrical equipment & components Earthing of equipment and termination of cables to workmanship standards You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years Aeropeople’s expertise and experience is entrenched in the aerospace, aviation, engineering, motorsport, automotive, and defence industries.
