Electrical Engineer - Continental Shift (4 on / 4 off) - FM ContractSalary: £45,000-£47,000 + shift pattern

Shifts: Continental 4 on / 4 off (days) - 06:00-18:00 and 10:00-22:00
Hays are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a busy facilities team on a large, multi-building site. This is a hands-on role supporting a high-footfall environment, so you’ll be comfortable being on the move throughout the day, lots of walking, varied plant areas, and a strong mix of reactive maintenance and planned PPMs.You’ll be part of an on-site engineering function responsible for keeping building services running safely, compliantly, and efficiently, covering electrical work alongside exposure to mechanical systems and water management.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:

• Electrical maintenance across a large estate (reactive and PPM)
• Fault-finding, repairs, and first-time fixes to minimise downtime
• Completing PPM schedules to agreed service levels and statutory requirements
• Supporting day-to-day operation of building services including mechanical interfaces and water management systems
• Accurate completion of job sheets / CAFM updates and maintenance records
• Escalating risks, defects, or compliance concerns promptly
• Working to high health & safety standards and site procedures

What We’re Looking For Essential:

Level 3 Electrical Qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent)Experience in building services / facilities maintenance (or similar large-site environments)Strong fault-finding skills and confidence working independently on shift. xwzovoh Comfortable with a role involving significant site walking and varied tasksA proactive, customer-focused approach in a live operational setting

Desirable (nice to have):

Experience in large estates / campus environmentsExposure to water management processes and mechanical plant supportFamiliarity with PPM compliance and reactive SLA environments
