Structural Engineer Location: South Essex Remuneration: Up to £50,000 Hybrid working The opportunity A boutique structural engineering consultancy, currently experiencing an unprecedented surge in new instructions, requires a versatile engineer to orchestrate a broad portfolio of projects. This is not a siloed role; it is for a professional who thrives on variety, from domestic extensions to sophisticated portal frame developments and compliance-driven surveys. Technical Execution: Deliver simple design work and detailed drawings. Client Engagement: Manage site inspections, surveys, and direct communication with architects, contractors, and homeowners. Strategic Compliance: Navigate the complexities of the Building Safety Act, providing essential inspections and survey calculations for a shifting regulatory landscape. Operational Agility: Hit the ground running with a "common sense" approach to varied engineering challenges. The Environment The firm maintains a lean, expert structure consisting of an Associate Director, Consultant, and CAD support. The culture is defined by: Radical Transparency: A refusal to engage in low-margin, high-friction work. We focus on quality instructions that value professional expertise. Collaborative Intensity: We prioritize physical presence to facilitate CAD collaboration and social integration within the team. Requirements Experience: A minimum of 3–4 years (Graduate/Engineer level) through to Senior status.
