About the role

Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advisor £31,027.99 Derbyshire Fixed Term - 7 Months Full-Time As a Senior Independent Domestic Violence Advisor, you will provide short to medium term support to high-risk victims of domestic abuse. You’ll help the Service Manager to achieve high customer engagement levels and deliver person-centred support packages. You’ll build positive relationships, both internally and externally, that help meet customer, contract and organisation needs. What you’ll do: * Work in partnership with the Service Manager to make sure customers accessing the service receive a professional, timely and coordinated response, with up-to-date, relevant information regarding options available to them. * Support customers directly, including by representing them at multi-agency forums such as MARAC. * Support the Service Manager to ensure case management is of a high standard. Carry out regular and robust case file audits. * Coordinate the provision of the duty rota system in collaboration with the IDVA Team. * Assist with all aspects of the recruitment, training and induction of IDVA team members in line with Glow recruitment policy and procedures. * Respond appropriately to any safeguarding concerns, demonstrating an understanding of safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. What we’re looking for * Good standard of education, including GCSE English and Maths, or qualified by significant experience. * Experience of supervision/coaching of staff or volunteers, of managing performance and achieving targets through review of individual and team practice. * Experience supporting individuals who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour-based violence’ in an IDVA role or equivalent. * An excellent understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation about legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. * Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders. * Good crisis management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines. * Good data collection, monitoring and IT skills, including word processing and using databases and spreadsheets. * DBS check and Police Vetting. * Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle for work.
