Lead Structural Engineer

Lead Structural Engineer Location: Watford – hybrid (work at home 1 day per week) Salary: £60-70K plus excellent benefits package About the Opportunity Join a highly respected organisation operating at the forefront of research, testing and innovation within the built environment sector . This is a senior technical role focused on leading complex structural engineering, testing and assurance projects that support safer, more sustainable and higher-performing buildings across the UK and internationally. Key Requirements • Chartered Structural Engineer status • Strong knowledge of BS and EN codes and standards • Experience leading complex structural engineering and testing programmes • Strong understanding of static and dynamic structural behaviour • Experience managing engineers, technicians and laboratory teams • Ability to produce and review technical reports and proposals • Knowledge of UK construction methods, materials and building systems • Experience in structural inspection, assessment and fire performance • Exposure to AutoCAD and FEA modelling • Strong client-facing and commercial skills Role & Responsibilities • Leading structural engineering activities and technical services • Overseeing structural testing and assurance projects • Developing and interpreting structural test regimes • Managing laboratory-based testing activities • Coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams • Producing technical proposals, reports and client deliverables • Supporting client engagement, business development and industry representation Why Join?
