Interim Finance Director (Part-time/Hybrid)

Rutherford Cross partners with its charity sector client, based in Edinburgh, to appoint an Interim Finance Director (Part‑time/Hybrid) for an assignment running from May until the end of December 2026 initially. This role is 2.5 days per week, and reporting to the Chief Executive you will be responsible for:

  • Providing strategic focus and governance, risk management and financial management for the organisation
  • Ensuring financial resources are managed appropriately and support the delivery of the strategic aims of the business
  • Presenting the management accounts and budgets to the Board
  • Business partnering with all budget holders to support effective decision-making and planning
  • Working closely with the Chair of the Finance Committee
  • Leading the annual audit process and liaising with key stakeholders
  • Reviewing and updating the corporate risk register
  • Managing and leading a small and effective finance team

To apply, you will be a fully qualified accountant and an experienced Finance Director with a background either in the charity or public sector. You will have first-class communication skills and be comfortable in advising and liaising with a highly experienced Board.

Salary: £75,000 p.a. pro rata
