About the role
We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic and skilled Occupational Therapist specialising in Equipment and Adaptations to join our vibrant 0-18 Disability Service in Kent. This permanent full-time role offers you the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities by using your expertise to foster independence and safety. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of highly effective occupational therapy within the 0-18 Disability Team. Your work will enable children and young people with disabilities to achieve positive outcomes by employing a strength-based personalised approach. You will be responsible for conducting quality OT assessments and using clinical reasoning to implement solutions that enhance independence and safety. Collaboration with internal and external teams is key to maximising service users' independence and improving their quality of life.
Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to create tailored plans that meet each individual's needs.
- Utilise available resources such as Disabled Facilities Grants to deliver necessary adaptations.
- Promote the importance of safety and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Support the Council’s Fair Access, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy.
- Undertake other activities as needed and agreed upon with management to support the service delivery.
Qualified Occupational Therapist registered with HCPC.
- Proven experience working on complex cases independently with substantial knowledge of manual handling casework.
- Knowledge of safeguarding issues, particularly concerning vulnerable children and young adults with additional needs.
- Full driving licence and enhanced DBS clearance.
- Competency in ICT skills, including Microsoft Office Word.
