Mechanical Design Engineer to Senior Design Engineer (Permanent)

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Hemel Hempstead | Permanent | ⏰ 40 hours | £50,000–£60,000 We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take a lead role within our Design Team, delivering mechanical solutions across water and wastewater treatment projects that make a real impact. In this role, you’ll own the full mechanical design lifecycle — from concept through to commissioning — working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions. You’ll also mentor junior engineers and help shape technical best practice across the business. ⚠️ This position requires attendance in the Glasgow office or on site at least 3 days per week Leading mechanical design packages end‑to‑end ✅ Supporting procurement, installation, commissioning, and optimisation ✅ Carrying out technical reviews and risk assessments ✅ 7–10 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering (water/wastewater ideal) ~ Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools You’ll be part of a business delivering essential, sustainable infrastructure , with the opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor others, and work on projects that positively impact communities and the environment.
