About the role
A leading provider of innovative renewable energy solutions is looking for a proactive and commercially focused Buyer to manage purchasing, supplier relationships and project logistics.
The business designs and installs high-specification renewable energy systems for high-end residential and commercial clients, working with builders, architects and developers across the South East. With continued growth and ambitious expansion plans, this is an excellent opportunity for a performance-driven purchasing professional to make a real impact.
The Role
This is not a traditional administrative supply chain role. You will be responsible for ensuring installation teams have the right materials, plant and equipment exactly when they need them, at the best possible price.
Your main focus will be negotiating with suppliers, keeping material spend within budget, preventing procurement delays and ensuring smooth delivery to live project sites. You will also take ownership of the company asset register, keeping equipment tracked, tagged and fully accounted for.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers and wholesalers to secure the best possible rates.
* Drive project material costs under budget wherever possible.
* Manage the full purchasing cycle, ensuring materials, plant and equipment are delivered accurately and on schedule.
* Anticipate and resolve supply chain, stock or delivery issues before they affect installation timelines.
* Maintain accurate asset registers and schedules, ensuring company-owned equipment is tagged and traceable.
* Keep pricing lists up to date.
* Track supplier and manufacturer KPIs to give the business visibility on partner performance.
* Coordinate periodic asset audits and stock checks.
* Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions where needed.
* Work closely with Design, Sales and Installation teams to forecast project requirements and meet cost, productivity and delivery targets.
The Ideal Candidate
* 1 to 2+ years’ experience in purchasing, buying or supply chain coordination.
* Experience within construction, MEP or renewables would be highly desirable.
* Proactive, commercially minded and performance-driven.
* Strong negotiation skills with evidence of reducing costs or securing favourable supplier terms.
* Highly organised and able to manage multiple live project deliveries at once.
* Experience with asset registers, stock control or digital asset tracking systems.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships while holding partners accountable to delivery SLAs.
Apply
This is a great opportunity for a motivated Buyer who wants to play a key role in a growing renewable energy business. If you are commercially sharp, organised and confident dealing with suppliers, we would like to hear from you
