About the role

Working closely with the Procurement Team and colleagues across the business, you will be part of a centralised buying function, providing coordinated and consistent procurement support. You'll help deliver a high-quality service across the end-to-end requisition lifecycle, ensuring business needs are met efficiently, accurately and in line with company processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise, manage and maintain accurate records of requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and supporting value-for-money outcomes.
  • Process information relating to invoices, goods and services received, and follow up outstanding goods receipts or confirmations to facilitate timely payment.
  • Resolve parked, blocked and disputed invoices by validating requisition, purchase order and goods receipt data, working collaboratively with colleagues and suppliers to identify solutions.
  • Monitor and manage workflows, including shared inboxes and application requisitions, ensuring actions are progressed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions and activities.
  • Follow established business processes and support the wider Procurement Team in delivering an effective service.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues across the business to understand and respond to their procurement needs.
  • Provide first-line support and guidance to colleagues on buying activities and the systems used.
  • Produce reports on activity, spend, efficiency and performance to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Handle information in accordance with data protection, confidentiality and Welsh Water policies and standards.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required to support business needs and team objectives. The following are essential requirements for this role., Demonstrable experience and knowledge of procurement processes and principles.

  • Friendly, supportive and approachable, with the ability to build positive working relationships across the organisation.
