Transport Supervisor

Transport Supervisor  Pay Rate: £15.92 per hour Start Date: Immediate Start Available Duration: Until November, with potential to continue Hours: Monday to Friday, starting at 03:30am. Planned 8-hour shifts with overtime available when required. Location: Measham, DE12  We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join a busy and fast-paced transport operation based in  Measham.  This role would suit someone with a strong transport background, ideally with experience managing home delivery operations and Class 2 driver fleets. You will be supporting the Transport Manager in overseeing daily transport activities and ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient operation. Key Responsibilities: Support the Transport Manager with the day-to-day transport operation Conduct daily driver pre-briefs Manage driver queries and issues, including compliance, vehicle checks, uniforms and vehicle standards Monitor and report any non-compliance issues Liaise with drivers, maintenance providers and breakdown recovery companies Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed and recorded Maintain high standards of health and safety, compliance and service delivery Coordinate and support a fleet of 40+ drivers during busy morning dispatch periodsRequirements: Previous Transport Supervisor experience Knowledge of driver hours and transport regulations Experience managing a fleet operation in a fast-paced environment Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Advanced Excel skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Able to work independently and proactively Approachable, flexible and driven attitudeThis is a hands-on role that will involve working across the office, warehouse and yard, ensuring drivers are dispatched efficiently and operations run smoothly each day.
