Property litigation sits in a pretty nice spot.

You get the strategy, argument and occasional chaos of litigation.

But the dispute is usually attached to something you can actually point at.

A building.

A lease.

A development.

A boundary somebody has been arguing about since approximately the dawn of time.

There is demand in Newcastle at the moment for experienced Property Litigation Solicitors, and I’m particularly interested in speaking with people from around 3 years PQE upwards.

This is for lawyers who already understand property disputes rather than commercial litigators being asked to reinvent themselves overnight.

The attraction is breadth.

Landlord and tenant matters, development disputes, easements, restrictive covenants, possession issues and the wider collection of problems that emerge when property and commercial interests collide.

By this stage of your career, you probably know whether you genuinely enjoy contentious work.

The more important question is whether you’re getting enough of the right kind.

Are you running your own matters?

Getting direct access to clients?

Being trusted with difficult decisions rather than simply carrying out the next step somebody else has already decided?

And is there actually somewhere for your career to go?

There are firms in Newcastle investing in this area and looking for solicitors who can take proper responsibility rather than simply add another pair of hands to the team.

That makes now a sensible time to test the market.

Not necessarily move.

Just find out whether somebody else can offer something your current firm cannot.

If you’re a Property Litigation Solicitor around 3+ PQE and would like a confidential view of what’s happening in Newcastle, speak to Neil Campbell at QED Legal. xwzovoh

I’ll tell you what I’m seeing, where the genuine opportunities are and whether any of them are worth your time.
