Behaviour Mentor - Alternative Provision - Leicester Location: Leicester Salary: £105 per day Contract: Monday to Friday, term time only Start Date: Immediate / ongoing Aspire People are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to work within an Alternative Provision setting in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting young people who may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education and require a more individualised approach. The successful candidate will be confident managing challenging behaviour while building positive relationships and helping pupils re-engage with learning. The Role Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils within an Alternative Provision setting Build strong, positive relationships with pupils Support students with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs and emotional regulation Use positive behaviour strategies and effective de-escalation techniques Encourage pupils to engage with learning and develop their confidence Help pupils develop social, emotional and independent learning skills Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide consistent support Maintain a calm, structured and supportive environment Requirements Previous experience working with children or young people is essential Experience supporting challenging behaviour, SEMH or pupils at risk of disengaging from education Experience within Alternative Provision, specialist education, youth work or a similar setting would be beneficial A calm, patient and resilient approach Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to manage challenging situations professionally Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing What Aspire People Offer Competitive daily rate of £105 Monday to Friday, term time only Ongoing opportunities across Leicester and Leicestershire Dedicated consultant support Access to a wide range of education settings Opportunities for longer-term positions If you have a strong background in behaviour support and are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education, we would love to hear from you.
