Teacher of Music The City of Edinburgh Music School and Broughton High School Hours: 35 per week Following the appointment of our current Music Teacher to a Director of Music role we are seeking a new Teacher of Music to join The City of Edinburgh Music School (0.66fte) and the Expressive Arts Faculty (0.34fte) at Broughton High School, Edinburgh. This unique shared role ensures that we continue to build excellence and cultural capital across the school. The City of Edinburgh Music School is a unique Scottish Government funded specialist music provision that has been based at Broughton High School and Flora Stevenson Primary School since 1980. It has been awarded the distinction of becoming the first All Steinway School of Distinction in the UK - and has 25 Steinway pianos. Gifted musicians from the age of 4 to 18 are selected to join the school on musical merit alone and are not charged any fees. The intensive training - involving regular practice, various ensembles and individual expert tuition from talented and dedicated teachers, paves the way for our students to secure positions in some of the most prestigious colleges, universities, ensembles, orchestras and media organisations in the world.
