Salary: MPS/UPS (£32,916 - £51,048) + TLR2a (£3,527)
We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Subject Leader of Technology to work in a secondary school located in York. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a proven track record of delivering outstanding outcomes for young people. The successful candidate will join a well-established Technology faculty and lead Design Technology and Food Technology, with a specialism in Design Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage Design Technology and Food Technology within the department.
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across a range of Technology subjects.
* Inspire, motivate, and challenge students across KS3 and KS4.
* Monitor, assess, and report on student progress to ensure high standards of achievement.
* Contribute to the development of the wider Technology curriculum.
* Support and develop colleagues within the department.
* Maintain a safe, organised, and engaging learning environment.
* Participate in departmental meetings, whole-school initiatives, and CPD opportunities.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience teaching Design Technology across KS3 and KS4.
* Strong subject knowledge, with the ability to teach across multiple Technology disciplines.
* Previous leadership experience or readiness to take on a leadership role.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Ability to contribute to the wider personal development of students.
