Role: Field Service Engineer – EV Charging Infrastructure

Location: South East England (London & Kent Coverage)

Salary & Package: £42,000 Basic + Overtime + Standby + London Weighting + Vehicle (£55k to £60k OTE)

The Role

This is a field-based engineering role focused on the servicing, maintenance, commissioning, and fault-finding of AC & DC EV charging infrastructure across commercial and public charging sites throughout the South East region.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring EV charging equipment remains safe, compliant, and fully operational while delivering a high level of customer service on-site.

This role would suit an electrically qualified engineer with strong testing, maintenance, and fault-finding experience who is looking to build a long-term career within EV charging and renewable energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, repair, and commission AC & DC EV charging equipment
• Diagnose and rectify electrical and technical faults across charging infrastructure
• Carry out preventative maintenance, inspections, and compliance testing
• Complete digital service documentation and reporting accurately
• Ensure all work is completed in line with electrical regulations and health & safety standards
• Support reactive breakdowns and emergency callouts where required
• Build strong working relationships with customers and site stakeholders
• Represent the business professionally across customer sites

Requirements

Essential

• ECS Gold Card (non-negotiable)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong electrical maintenance, testing, and fault-finding experience
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship

Desirable xwzovoh

• Previous EV charging experience
• Inspection & Testing qualifications
• Experience working on commercial electrical systems
• Experience with AC/DC charging infrastructure or power systems

Package & Benefits

• Basic salary aligned to JIB industry rates (~£42,000 equivalent)
• Overtime paid at time and a half from the first minute over contracted hours
