Job Title: Housing Support Officer
Location: North West England
Contract: Initial 6-Month Contract
Hours: 37 hours per week

A Housing Association in the North West of England is seeking a Housing Support Officer to provide vital support to residents and help sustain tenancies across the local community. This is an initial 6-month contract, offering an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in housing support, tenancy sustainment, or working with vulnerable individuals.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting tenants to maintain their tenancies and improve their overall wellbeing. Working directly with residents, you will provide both practical and emotional support, enabling individuals to live independently while maintaining a safe and stable living environment.
You will act as a key point of contact for tenants, assisting with tenancy-related matters and working collaboratively with housing management teams, support services, and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies and promote independent living
* Acting as a main point of contact for residents, offering advice and guidance
* Conducting regular support visits, risk assessments, and welfare checks
* Creating, implementing, and reviewing personalised support plans
* Assisting tenants with budgeting, benefits, and developing life skills
* Supporting residents in managing anti-social behaviour or neighbour disputes
* Working in partnership with housing officers, repairs teams, and external agencies
* Signposting tenants to specialist support services where appropriate
* Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive community environment
About You
The organisation is looking to hear from candidates who have:
* Experience in housing support, tenancy sustainment, or a similar role
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A proactive, empathetic, and tenant-focused approach
* Experience working with vulnerable individuals or those with complex needs
* Ability to manage challenging situations, including anti-social behaviour
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload
* Knowledge of UK housing practices and support services (desirable)
