Assistant Estimator

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (DOE) Location: Rayleigh - Essex - Office-BasedJob Overview An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Estimator to join a growing, family-run construction business due to continued expansion and a healthy pipeline of work. With an annual turnover of approximately £8 million, the company delivers a broad range of construction projects valued between £50,000 and £3 million across general building and civil engineering sectors. This role is ideal for someone with some prior estimating experience who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and well-established contractor environment. Job Requirements Previous experience within an estimating or construction-related role is essential * General building and/or civil engineering experience advantageous * Ability to interpret drawings and specifications * Good numerical and analytical skills * Strong attention to detail and organisational ability * Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel * Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop * Full UK driving licence essential * Able to work from the office full-timeSalary & Benefits Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (DOE) * Permanent, full-time position * Office-based role - Site visits as required * Opportunity to join a growing family-run contractor * Exposure to a wide variety of projects * Long-term career progression opportunities * Supportive working environmentKey Responsibilities Assist in preparing tenders, estimates and cost plans * Review drawings, specifications and project documentation * Produce take-offs and quantify materials and labour requirements * Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations * Support senior estimators with pricing and tender submissions * Maintain estimating records and documentation * Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and subcontractors * Assist with site visits and project handovers where requiredBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
