Secondary English Tutor Help Young People Build Confidence in English We're looking for a Secondary English Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across the BCP area. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision and benefit from tailored educational support. Many of the students we work with face barriers to learning and need a tutor who can help improve literacy, communication, comprehension, and written skills while building confidence and engagement with education. This is an excellent opportunity for education professionals who are passionate about English and enjoy helping learners achieve meaningful progress. Location: BCP Subject: Secondary English Hours: Flexible Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour Type: 1:1 Tuition Requirements Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles Strong English subject knowledge Experience supporting secondary-aged learners Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable Strong communication and relationship-building skills Patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across the BCP area Who You'll Support You'll work with young people who may have: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ADHD Anxiety and school avoidance EHCPs and additional educational needsEach learner has their own strengths and challenges, requiring a personalised approach designed to improve both attainment and confidence.
