Rate: 470 a day Inside IR35 Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance Contract Length: 3-month contract (scope for extension) Start Date: Early-to-mid June Location: Primarily remote with occasional onsite attendance (maximum once per month). Onsite locations may vary between Sheffield, Leeds, or London.

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer to support the delivery of complex, high-impact digital services within a secure and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will join a collaborative engineering team focused on building scalable, resilient backend systems using modern JVM technologies and engineering best practices.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working closely with other engineers, contributing to technical direction, and championing quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and delivery teams in an agile environment.
Contribute to technical discussions, architectural decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following TDD principles.
Participate in pair programming and peer review activities.
Support the delivery of high-quality digital services within government or similarly regulated environments. xwzovoh
