Please note: the working hours for this role is 22.5 hours. Clinical hours are from 8am-8pm so the role may entail late evening work.

This role will require you to operate at an advanced level of clinical practice, utilising expert clinical reasoning to assess, diagnose, and manage musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and undifferentiated symptoms. You will provide a responsive, patient-centred service via virtual clinics (video and audio calls), streamlining pathways of care to ensure patients receive rapid and accurate management plans.


You will be reporting to the MSK Clinical Services Manager.

Essential Criteria;


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING


  • BSc/Grad Dip in Physiotherapy with HCPC registration
  • IRMER trained and certified


EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum 3 years in an autonomous MSK role as an APP or FCP
  • 3 years’ experience requesting radiological investigations


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS


  • Expert clinical reasoning and the ability to adapt physical exams to a virtual setting
  • Excellent IT skills and interest in healthtech
  • Self-motivated and capable of acting on own initiative without supervision
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING


  • MSc or evidence of Master’s level study in Advanced Clinical Practice


EXPERIENCE


  • Experience working in a remote role
  • Experience in leading or training other APPs


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS


  • Knowledge of clinical governance and CQC requirements
  • Interest in data analysis to improve outcomes


Within this position, you will mainly be;


Clinical Excellence

  • Conduct high-level clinical assessments from a physiological and psychological perspective within a virtual care setting
  • Formulate and implement evidence-based treatment plans for both simple and complex acute and chronic conditions
  • Request and interpret radiological investigations (e.g., MRI, X-rays), understanding the sensitivity, specificity, and limitations of such tests
  • Effectively manage the interface between virtual and face-to-face (F2F) settings, identifying when a physical examination is required


Governance, Audit, and Incident Management

  • Lead and participate in the audit cycle to evaluate the quality of self and team performance, implementing improvements based on findings
  • Utilise structured frameworks, such as root-cause analysis, to manage, review, and extract learning from patient complaints, clinical incidents, and near-miss events
  • Collaborate with clinical leads to contribute to the development and delivery of clinical governance strategies and quality systems
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and complete patient records in line with legal requirements and professional codes of conduct


Relationship and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage clinical relationships with external physiotherapy providers to ensure service developments are effectively integrated into clinical provision
  • Monitor external providers to ensure they adhere to locally agreed pathways, NICE guidelines, and evidence-based care standards
  • Consultants and the wider head office team (technology, data, and operations) to enhance the platform
  • Support and delegate to other members of the remote team, including physiotherapists and contact centre staff, to ensure safe and effective patient management
