Freelance Curriculum Writer (Employability & Skills) Location: West Midlands (Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Hereford, Lichfield, Worcester) Rate: £200 – £250 per day Are you an experienced Curriculum Writer or Instructional Designer in the Employability and Skills sector looking for a flexible freelance opportunity? You’ll ensure all materials are structured, engaging, and aligned to Ofsted requirements, awarding body standards, and employer expectations. Key Responsibilities: * Develop curriculum content for employability and skills training programmes * Create schemes of work, lesson plans, and learner resources * Align content with Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and quality standards * Ensure compliance with AEB funding requirements and awarding organisations * Collaborate with delivery teams, IQAs, and quality leads * Review and enhance existing learning materials for engagement and effectiveness * Embed employability skills, progression pathways, and job readiness into content * Design learner-focused materials that support retention, achievement, and progression Ideal Candidate You’ll be an experienced Curriculum Developer / Instructional Designer with a strong background in the Further Education (FE), Employability, or Adult Skills sector.
