Site Manager

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to manage an 18-week extension project at a live school in Manchester.The project will involve both build and fit-out works, and we are looking for a capable, hands-on Site Manager who can take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site and drive the programme through to a successful handover.Health & Safety is the number one priority for this role. As the project is within a school environment, we need someone with a strong track record of maintaining excellent site standards and managing works safely within an occupied/sensitive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDay-to-day management of the construction siteMaintaining the highest standards of Health & SafetyManaging and coordinating subcontractors and tradesDriving the programme and ensuring key deadlines are achievedManaging both build and fit-out activitiesSite inductions, RAMS reviews and toolbox talksMaintaining site records and documentationQuality control, snagging and preparation for handoverLiaising with the project team, client and other stakeholdersEnsuring the site remains safe, organised and professional throughout the worksEssential RequirementsCandidates must hold:Enhanced DBSSMSTSCSCSFirst Aid at WorkYou should also have demonstrable experience managing construction and fit-out projects, ideally within schools, education or other live environments.This is initially an 18-week freelance assignment starting 28 September 2026, with a potential opportunity to move into a permanent position for the right person following successful completion of the project.
