About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Transport Manager to lead our Logistics team in Manchester. You’ll lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all legal and safety standards.Location: Manchester Depot – Trafford Park (M17 1TU)Contract: Full Time/PermanentShift: Monday-Friday (40 hours)Transport Manager Key Responsibilities;Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team.Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.Manage depot operations, including rota planning, staffing, and cost control.Deliver against KPIs and OGSM targets.Drive customer service excellence for both internal and external stakeholders.Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.Ensure legal compliance for drivers and vehicles.Conduct performance reviews, training, and disciplinary procedures.What We’re Looking For;Proven experience in senior-level transport operations.Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Knowledge of haulage legislation and employment law.ICT proficiency and data-driven decision-making skills.QualificationsEssential:Minimum 5 GCSEs (A–C or equivalent)Licence CPC CertificationIOSH CertificationDesired:Experience in milk or food logisticsFamiliarity with unionized environments (e.g., USDAW)Why Join Us?You’ll be part of a forward-thinking logistics team within a leading dairy business, where innovation, teamwork, and excellence are at the heart of everything we do.
