We’re Hiring: Commercial Plumber 🚨 📍 Newcastle (Static University Site) 💷 £34,500 + Overtime Opportunities We’re looking for a qualified Commercial Plumber to join a well-established facilities team on a large university site in Newcastle. This is a great opportunity for a plumber who enjoys working in a maintenance environment, with long-term stability, a supportive team, and opportunities to develop additional mechanical skills. 🔧 What you’ll be doing: ✔️ Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive plumbing works across site ✔️ Maintaining domestic hot and cold water systems in line with L8 water hygiene standards ✔️ Diagnosing and repairing plumbing faults to minimise downtime ✔️ Servicing sanitary systems, pipework, valves, and associated plant ✔️ Supporting basic mechanical maintenance on heating and plant systems where required ✔️ Assisting with plantroom checks including pumps and water systems ✔️ Completing job sheets and updates via “Frontline” or similar systems ✔️ Following method statements and risk assessments for all works ✔️ Ensuring full compliance with health & safety procedures ✔️ Delivering excellent customer service and building strong client relationships 👷 What we’re looking for: • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent) • Proven experience in commercial or facilities maintenance environments • Strong background in domestic and commercial plumbing systems • Experience working with water systems, pipework, valves, and sanitary equipment • Knowledge of L8 compliance and water hygiene regulations • Basic understanding of plantroom environments (desirable) • Good understanding of health & safety practices • Basic IT skills for logging and reporting work • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently or within a team 💼 What’s on offer: 💷 £34,500 basic salary ⏱️ Overtime opportunities to increase earnings 📞 Optional on-call rota (flexible to suit you) 🏫 Static role on a well-maintained university site 👥 Supportive team and positive working environment 🎓 Access to student discounts via UniDays 📈 Ongoing training, upskilling, and career development opportunities 🕒 Working Hours: Monday to Friday • 3 weeks: 07:30 – 15:30 • 1 week: 09:30 – 18:00 • Optional on-call + weekend overtime available 🚀 Ideal for a qualified plumber looking for a stable, long-term maintenance role with the opportunity to broaden their skills within a facilities environment
