Job Title: Level 2 BSL Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Location: Stevenage Contract Type: Full-Time / Permanent Start Date: September About the Role Class Education are working with a Stevenage Secondary School who are seeking a dedicated and skilled Learning Support Assistant with a minimum of Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification to join their supportive and inclusive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students who are deaf or have hearing impairments, helping them to fully access their education and thrive within the school environment. Key Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and small group support to students using British Sign Language (BSL) * Facilitate effective communication between students, staff, and peers * Support the delivery of lessons by interpreting and adapting content where necessary * Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) * Encourage students’ independence, confidence, and social inclusion * Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external specialists The Ideal Candidate Will Have * A recognised Level 2 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) * Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach * Ability to work effectively as part of a team What the School Offers * A welcoming and supportive working environment * Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development * The chance to make a meaningful difference in students’ lives * Well-resourced facilities and a committed SEN team Safeguarding Statement Class Education are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
