Quantity Surveyor – Civil Engineering 📍 Somerset, UK 💰 Competitive Salary + Benefits Package We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our growing civil engineering team based in Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and civil projects across the region. The Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring value for money, and maintaining financial control from inception through to completion. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver successful outcomes. Key Responsibilities * Prepare, manage, and review project budgets and cost forecasts * Administer contracts (NEC/JCT) and manage subcontractor accounts * Conduct valuations, variations, and final accounts * Monitor project progress and identify cost risks/opportunities * Provide accurate reporting on financial performance * Support procurement and tendering processes * Ensure compliance with contractual and commercial requirements Requirements * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering (e.g., highways, infrastructure, drainage, utilities) * Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (JCT beneficial) * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience) * Excellent negotiation and communication skills * Strong analytical and financial management abilities * Full UK driving licence What We Offer * Competitive salary and annual bonus * Company car or car allowance * Pension scheme * Ongoing professional development and career progression * Supportive and collaborative team environment
