Post Title: Health Visitor / Trainee Health Visitor Permanent Qualified Health Visitor - £52,769 - £61,377 p.a. Trainees Up to 12 months prior to completion of training (75% of the top rate at Band 7) = £46,032 p.a. More than one but less than two years prior to completion of training (70% of the top rate at Band 7) = £42,963 p.a. More than two but less than three years prior to completion of training (65% of the top rate at Band 7) = £39,895 p.a. More than three years from completion of training (60% of the top rate at Band 7) = £36,826 p.a. We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated, qualified Health Visitor to join the Caithness Health Visiting team. If we cannot recruit a qualified health visitor a trainee health visitor position will be considered. The post is full time – 36 hours. If not yet qualified you will be required to undertake a Masters/MSc, Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing/ Health Visiting. Evidence demonstrates the importance of prevention, early identification and intervention throughout the early years of life. Health Visitors have a significant public health role to play in relation to individuals, families and communities by providing critical support to all children under five years of age. You will identify health needs as early as possible and improve health and wellbeing by promoting health, preventing ill health and reducing inequalities. You will visit families in their own homes and provide health advice and support to empower parents to care for their children. Your health visiting practice will be based on the Universal Health Visiting Pathway underpinned by GIRFEC and the National Practice Model. Although your focus of health visiting will be on young children, you will have to build a solid bond with the whole family. It will also be your responsibility to understand their concerns and health needs and deal with it in a safe and supportive manner. You will be working as an autonomous practitioner with families, young children and vulnerable individuals, you must be approachable, friendly and have excellent communication skills. Registered nurse or midwife at degree level or equivalent Post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing and be registered on Part 3 of the NMC register Educated to Masters level in a relevant nursing area, or As such, an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required depending on your nationality and recent residency history. You must not have lived or worked in any country outside of the UK or those listed above for a period of three months or more, while aged 18 years or over, within the past five years. Please note that it is your responsibility to obtain the Overseas Criminal Record Check, and you will be required to cover any associated costs.
