Quantity Surveyor (Contract) – Water Sector
Location: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home)
Contract Duration: 12 months+
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day, Monday–Friday)
Rate: £450.00 per day Ltd (Outside IR35, subject to assessment)
Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team delivering a portfolio of infrastructure projects, primarily within the water sector. This role will play a key part in supporting the successful delivery of AMP8 programmes, ensuring robust commercial management across the full project lifecycle.
Candidates must have prior water sector experience, with a strong understanding of utilities project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial delivery of wastewater, clean water, and gas infrastructure projects from outline design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
Support the safe and efficient delivery of the AMP8 programme, driving effective commercial practices to deliver value (Gain) while meeting client and customer requirements.
Ensure all commercial aspects are proactively managed throughout project delivery.
Act as the commercial lead for assigned frameworks and projects.
Represent the business in client-facing commercial reviews and maintain strong client relationships.
Protect company interests and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Administer contracts in accordance with agreed terms, particularly NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
Draft and manage commercial correspondence within contractual response periods.
Manage the valuation and validation of compensation events.
Support the Infrastructure Director in identifying and driving growth opportunities within allocated frameworks.Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in a commercial/QS role within the water or utilities sector (essential).
Strong understanding of water industry standards and project delivery processes.
Experience working on client-side infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience in a lead commercial role within large organisations or complex programmes.
Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Full UK driving licence.Desirable
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
Experience working in a consultancy environment.
