About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and resilient Residential Support Workers to support children and young people aged 6–18 within a nurturing residential setting. The young people we support may present with challenging behaviours and a range of additional needs, including ADHD, autism and global developmental disorders.
This role requires individuals who can provide consistent, trauma-informed care while building strong, positive relationships. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment where each young person can develop, grow and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Build meaningful and trusting relationships with children and young people
* Support daily routines, including mornings, education, activities and evening routines
* Promote independence, social skills, and emotional wellbeing
* Engage young people in activities and positive experiences
* Respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviours
* Work as part of a team to provide consistent, high-quality care
* Support children with additional needs, including ADHD, autism and developmental delays
Shift Patterns
* Shifts vary depending on the home usually long days between 10 - 15 hours
* Flexibility is essential
* Minimum of 25 hours per week
Requirements
* A calm, patient, and resilient nature
* Ability to engage effectively with young people and build strong relationships
* Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a professional and supportive manner
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
* Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people (residential care, schools, youth work, SEN, family support or similar)
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Applicants must be aged 22 or over (due to insurance requirements)
