About the role
Unqualified Teacher - Basingstoke
Prospero Teaching is recruiting confident and proactive Unqualified Teachers to support secondary schools in the Basingstoke area. This role offers the opportunity to lead classes, deliver pre‑planned lesson content, and gain valuable paid classroom experience without needing QTS.
You'll take responsibility for lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged, focused, and working productively. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, teaching assistants, tutors, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people who wants hands‑on experience in schools.
Work is available on a full‑time, long‑term, or flexible day‑to‑day basis depending on your availability.
The Role:
Lead classes using pre‑prepared lesson materials
Supervise pupils and maintain classroom routines
Manage behaviour in line with school expectations
Support students with learning tasks and questions
Cover a range of subjects across the timetable
Work with pupils across KS3 and KS4
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people (schools, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, coaching, etc.)
Confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour
Strong communication and organisation skills
Adaptable, calm, and reliable
Comfortable delivering a variety of subjects
Graduates or aspiring teachers strongly encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
Position: Unqualified Teacher
Location: Basingstoke
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full‑time, part‑time, or day‑to‑day
Pay Rate: Up to £130 per day
Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
Experience working with young people essential
Classroom or behaviour‑management experience beneficial
Safeguarding training can be provided
