The Company
We’re working in partnership with a highly regarded civil engineering contractor with a strong presence across Devon and Somerset. Established and continuing to expand, the business delivers complex infrastructure schemes typically valued between £5m and £40m.
Their portfolio includes major highways projects, bridges and structures, Section 278 works, infrastructure upgrades, road realignments, and junction improvements. With a reputation for technical excellence, strong safety performance, and a collaborative delivery style, they are a trusted partner to clients and benefit from a high level of repeat work.
With a healthy pipeline of secured projects, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Site Agent to join their Exeter team.
The Role
As Site Agent, you’ll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of live civil engineering projects, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with programme expectations.
You’ll act as the central point of coordination between the client, subcontractors, and internal teams, driving site performance while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and contributing to client and site progress meetings
Managing and coordinating subcontractors on site
Supervising, motivating, and supporting site teams
Developing short-term plans and look-ahead programmes
Preparing, reviewing, and approving RAMS
Interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
Overseeing quality control and health & safety compliance

We’re looking for a confident and driven Site Agent with a solid background in civil engineering and proven experience delivering infrastructure schemes.
You will have:
A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Experience working for a civil engineering main contractor
A strong track record delivering highways, infrastructure, or structures projects
A commercially aware and solutions-oriented approach
Excellent leadership and communication skills
