About the role
Are you an experienced Toolmaker seeking a specialised role within the automotive manufacturing sector? Our client, a reputable automotive production company based in Liss, Hampshire, is currently looking for a skilled Toolmaker to join their dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in engineering and manual machining techniques to work within a historic and craft-focused business that supplies bespoke parts and assemblies to the automotive restoration and historic vehicle communities.
The position of Toolmaker - Automotive Production offers the chance to develop your skills in a supportive environment, contributing to high-quality vehicle components and assemblies for a distinguished company committed to excellence in craftsmanship.

Attractive salary package ranging from £32,450 to £40,560 per annum, dependent on experience

Stable working hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm, 39 hours per week

Work in a historic business renowned for vehicle restoration and bespoke manufacturingDuties:
Manufacture components and assemblies using manual milling, turning, surface grinding, and bench fitting techniques
Ensure all work meets health and safety standards, as well as company quality requirements
Support vehicle workshop with modifications of parts and assemblies as needed
Inspect first-offs and batch production to maintain stringent quality standards
Operate additional machinery with proper training or guidance
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring accurate production records
Assist with disassembly, assessment, and re-assembly of vehicle sub-assemblies to support workshop activitiesRequirements:
Time-served apprenticeship in engineering or tooling
Proven experience in toolroom processes and manual machining techniques
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
Proactive attitude with a sense of ownership over tasks
Experience working with gearboxes and differentials is highly desirable
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar Toolmaker role
