About the role

Business Development Executive / Insurance Sales Executive Location: Peterborough (Office-Based Only) Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time 8.15am -5.15pm Our client is a well-established specialist insurance provider with a strong reputation for delivering tailored insurance solutions to individuals, families, professionals, and businesses across the UK and internationally. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a proactive and commercially focused Business Development Executive to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with insurance experience, or experience within a highly regulated industry, who enjoys building relationships, converting leads, and driving business growth. Please note: This is a fully office-based position and does not offer remote or hybrid working. The Role Working as part of a busy and supportive team, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, converting warm leads, supporting broker relationships, and providing outstanding customer service to existing clients. Key responsibilities include: * Converting warm inbound enquiries into new business opportunities. * Proactively generating new business through brokers, introducers, affiliates, and direct channels. * Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, brokers, and intermediaries. * Identifying opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services. * Supporting existing customers with their insurance requirements and renewals. * Preparing quotations, renewal terms, and policy documentation accurately and efficiently. * Managing appointments and meetings with prospective and existing business partners. * Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems. * Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments. * Representing the business at networking events and industry conferences when required. * Ensuring full compliance with FCA regulations and internal procedures. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: * Previous experience within the insurance industry or a highly regulated sector such as financial services, banking, legal services, healthcare, or similar. * Strong sales, business development, or account management experience. * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. * Confidence handling both inbound and outbound calls. * Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. * A proactive and target-driven approach. * High levels of accuracy and attention to detail. * Good understanding of regulatory compliance and customer service standards.
