About the role
Manufacturer who are part of a bigger group based in the West Midlands is currently seeking a General Manager to join their business in the West Midlands.
With the business in a strong position and supplying several major aerospace OEMs, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement while managing direct reports across Operations, Logistics, Sales, and Engineering. You will also hold full P&L responsibility and must bring prior experience in this area.
Reporting to the Directors, the General Manager will be a strong communicator and a key advocate for engagement with internal stakeholders, the workforce, and external partners. You will play a central role in promoting Production Quality, Sales, Health & Safety, People, Cost, and Delivery, while helping to drive cultural change on site.
Role: General Manager
Salary: up to £115,000 (depending on experience) + bonus + benefits
Location: West Midlands
Key Responsibilities for the General Manager:
Ensuring all areas of the business are delivering on time and on budget.
Full responsibility for the P&L.
Building and driving strategy across all areas of the business.
Managing all areas of the business, from engineering through to sales, HSE, and the shop floor.
Driving Health & Safety and working with HSE to develop a strong culture on site.
Providing overall direction in terms of cost-effective operations and planning.
Ensuring the continued quality of products.
Improving the performance of all direct reports through strong communication.
Ensuring Sales and Customer Services deliver the best possible customer experience.
Key Requirements for the General Manager:
A strong record of success in a senior management role within an Aerospace manufacturing
Experience developing multiple teams across Engineering, HSE, and Sales.
Track record of success in transformation management
Strong operational excellence is essential for this role
An engineering qualification such as Degree, HNC, or HND is ideal.
A proven history of achieving profit and business growth through effective planning, cost control, and full P&L leadership.
