CE&I Senior Design Engineer - Site Based (Contract) Location: Cumbria (3 days on site / 2 days remote) Rate: ~£60 per hour (Umbrella PAYE) Contract: 12 months (strong likelihood of extension) Start: ASAP The Opportunity We're seeking an experienced CE&I Senior Design Engineer to join a high-profile project supporting commissioning activities on a major nuclear site in Cumbria. This is a site-focused role offering a balance of on-site engineering support and remote working, with occasional travel to Warrington. You'll play a key role in delivering and supporting detailed CE&I design solutions, working closely with commissioning teams to ensure successful project execution. Key Responsibilities Provide front-line, site-based design support to commissioning teams Deliver and check detailed CE&I designs and design changes Support the delivery of work by other engineers within the team Ensure designs meet functional and business requirements Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering challenges Mentor and support early-career engineers Essential Requirements (Must-Have) Minimum HND (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status (or equivalent) Active SC Clearance 5+ years' experience as a CE&I Senior Design Engineer Proven experience: Working on external multidisciplinary projects Providing site-based design support to commissioning teams Delivering and checking detailed designs/engineering changes Strong understanding of: PES-based control systems Process instrumentation Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Willingness to support and mentor junior engineers Desirable (Highly Advantageous) 7+ years' experience in a similar role Experience working to Sellafield Ltd engineering standards Previous Sellafield site experience and/or clearance (strong advantage) Experience across both external and nuclear/SL multidisciplinary projects Working Arrangements 3 days per week on site in Cumbria 2 days remote working Occasional travel to Warrington office (~once per month) Why Apply?
