Teacher of Religious Education (RE) Start Date: September 2026 We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, reflective, and inspiring Teacher of Religious Education to join our Humanities faculty from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed practitioner to contribute to a vibrant department within a school that places strong emphasis on values, community, and academic achievement. About the Role The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced applicant. You will play a key role in promoting critical thinking, respect for diverse beliefs, and a deep understanding of ethical and philosophical issues. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging and challenging RE lessons Contribute to the development of a broad, balanced, and inclusive RE curriculum Assess, monitor, and support student progress Foster an environment of respect, reflection, and open dialogue Contribute to collective worship and the wider Christian ethos of the school Support enrichment opportunities such as trips, debates, and guest speakers The Ideal Candidate Will Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject A passion for exploring faith, ethics, and worldviews Strong classroom management and communication skills A commitment to supporting the school’s Church of England ethos The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities What We Offer A supportive and welcoming school community rooted in Christian values Opportunities for professional development and career progression A collaborative Humanities faculty A strong focus on staff wellbeing and work-life balance
