Job Title: Residential Care Worker (RCW) & Senior RCW
Location: Cannock, Staffordshire
Salary: £13.50 – £15.50 per hour (Role & experience dependent)
Setting: Solo EBD Provision (Child under DoLS)
Reports to: Registered Manager
Service Overview
Join an established and reputable residential provider as part of a brand-new service launch in Cannock. This is a specialised solo provision designed to support one young person with complex Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) who is currently under a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard (DoLS) order. We are building a foundational team of resilient, therapeutic-led professionals to provide a stable and nurturing environment.
Core Responsibilities (Both Roles)

Therapeutic Support: Deliver high-quality, 1:1 person-centred care, ensuring the young person feels safe, valued, and supported.

DoLS Compliance: Work strictly within the legal framework of the DoLS order, ensuring the young person’s rights are protected while maintaining necessary safety measures.

Behaviour Management: Use approved de-escalation techniques (e.g., Team Teach, PRICE, or MAPA) to manage challenging incidents with a calm and professional approach.
*
Daily Living: Support the young person with life skills, including cooking, cleaning, education, and accessing local community activities.
*
Reporting: Maintain accurate, professional, and timely records for Ofsted inspections and statutory reviews (Reg 40s, daily logs, and incident reports).
The Senior RCW Advantage (Additional Duties)

Shift Leadership: Act as the "Senior on Shift," providing guidance and emotional support to the RCW team during high-pressure situations.
*
Compliance Oversight: Ensure all shift paperwork, medication logs, and health and safety checks are completed to Ofsted "Outstanding" standards.
*
Mentorship: Support the induction of new staff and offer peer-to-peer mentoring to junior Residential Care Workers.
*
On-Call Support: Participate in a fair on-call rota to ensure the service is supported 24/7.
Person Specification
Requirement
Residential Care Worker (RCW)Senior RCW (SRCW)ExperienceMinimum 6 months in Children’s Residential.Minimum 2 years in Children’s Residential.QualificationsLevel 3 Diploma (or willing to work towards).
Must hold Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
Key Skills Resilience, empathy, and strong boundaries.Shift leadership, crisis management, and coaching.
Compliance Understanding of Safeguarding.Deep knowledge of Quality Standards & DoLS.
Right to Work Permanent UK RTW (No Sponsorship).Permanent UK RTW
Driving Full UK Licence preferred.Full UK Licence essential
