About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Systems Engineer - Defence (Maritime Systems) to join a highly successful engineering department, supporting a critical sub-system within a complex weapon system programme. This role performs the duties of systems engineering across the full product lifecycle, including in-service support, product validation, and engineering change, and reports to senior engineering leadership within the programme. Key Responsibilities: * Providing technical support and resolving in-service engineering queries across deployed systems * Supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering activities using industry-standard tools * Assisting with product validation, verification, and certification of design changes * Collaborating with project managers and planners to support delivery timelines and resource forecasting * Producing and reviewing engineering documentation, including technical reports and change assessments * Supporting system integration, test, and overall lifecycle engineering activities The ideal candidate would have: * Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML or UML * Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS or similar) * Understanding of configuration management processes * Knowledge of complex systems such as electronics, control systems, or communications systems * Experience working in a structured engineering or manufacturing environment The ideal candidate must have: * A STEM degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline * Experience or exposure to engineering product delivery (academic or industry) * Strong technical problem-solving skills with a structured approach * Understanding of systems engineering principles, including specification, integration, and testing * A proactive, motivated mindset with a willingness to learn and develop This position offers a lucrative benefits package, which includes but is not limited to: * Company bonus based on performance * Competitive pension scheme with strong employer contribution * Flexible and hybrid working arrangements * Enhanced parental leave policies * Additional annual leave through flexible leave schemes * Subsidised meals and on-site facilities * Opportunities for paid overtime If this role looks like your next challenge, please contact Keelan ASAP or apply via this advert! ** Please note that due to the nature of the client’s business, only candidates who currently hold full British Citizenship (without limitations) / Dual Nationality (inclusive of British Citizenship) will be considered. ** We endeavour to reply to every candidate, every time but if you haven’t heard back within 10 days, please understand that you have unfortunately been unsuccessful for this position, or the position has been filled.
