Plumber / Water Hygiene Engineer

Our client, an established Water Treatment and Water Hygiene company, is looking to recruit an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer / Plumber to cover contracts throughout the North West. Ideally, candidates will be based around Preston or within easy access of the M6 corridor, although applications from experienced candidates outside this area will also be considered. This is a varied field-based role combining routine Water Hygiene and Legionella compliance duties with plumbing and remedial works across a range of commercial and industrial sites. The Role The successful candidate will carry out a broad range of Water Hygiene duties, including: Cooling tower cleaning and disinfection Cold Water Storage Tank cleaning and disinfection Water system disinfection L8 Water Hygiene monitoring Hot and cold water temperature monitoring Water sampling TMV servicing and fail-safe testing Showerhead and hose cleaning, descaling and disinfection Cold Water Storage Tank inspections Calorifier inspections Flushing of little-used outlets General Water Hygiene and Legionella compliance duties Completing site logbooks and electronic service reports The position will also involve plumbing and remedial works where required, which could include: Installation and replacement of TMVs Dead-leg removal Pipework modifications Installation and replacement of taps, valves and associated fittings Tank and calorifier remedial works General plumbing repairs associated with Water Hygiene compliance Identifying additional remedial requirements while attending customer sites

What We're Looking For Previous experience within the Water Hygiene / Legionella industry Experience carrying out cooling tower and cold-water storage tank cleans Good knowledge of routine L8 Water Hygiene monitoring Experience with water sampling and TMV servicing Minimum 2 years' plumbing experience Minimum Level 2 Plumbing qualification Good practical knowledge of hot and cold water systems Understanding of ACoP L8 and HSG274 Strong practical and problem-solving skills Good communication and customer-facing ability Ability to work independently and manage your own workload Full UK Driving Licence Package Competitive Basic Salary
