Senior Accounts Assistant (Part-Time, 20 Hours Weekly) Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme (ST5) Salary: £27,000 - £31,000 FTE (Pro‑rata for 20 hours) Job Type: Part‑Time, Permanent About the Role We're looking for a highly organised and detail‑focused Senior Accounts Assistant to join our clients finance team on a part‑time basis (20 hours per week). This role is ideal for someone looking to balance professional finance responsibilities with flexibility in their working pattern. Key Responsibilities - Process purchase and sales invoices - Manage accounts payable and receivable - Complete bank reconciliations and cash allocation - Support payroll data preparation - Assist with month‑end routines and management accounts - Help with variance analysis and KPI reporting - Support VAT return preparation and maintain audit trails - Maintain accurate finance system data (Xero/Sage 50) - Assist external accountants during audits What We're Looking For - Experience in an accounts assistant or similar finance role - Strong Excel skills and good knowledge of finance processes - Excellent attention to detail and organisation - Able to work independently and communicate clearly - AAT qualified,QBE or studying (or early‑stage ACCA/CIMA) Working Hours - Approx. 20 hours per week - Flexible working pattern available (spread across 3-5 days) - School‑hours or other flexibility considered What We Offer - Competitive pro‑rated salary - Supportive and friendly finance team - Opportunities to develop within the role - Stable, long‑term part‑time opportunity - Employee benefits platform including Cycle to Work Scheme, Discounts to various retailers, Gym Discounts, Employees assistance program and more.
