About The Role We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer / Supervisor to join our machine shop based in Clay Cross, Chesterfield. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a CNC vertical lathe, supporting programming across multiple machines, and overseeing the day-to-day activities of machine operators. You will play a key role in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities * Read and interpret engineering drawings * Set, program, and operate CNC machinery (Fanuc or Fagor controls) * Machine components to tight tolerances and carry out accurate measurements * Select and set appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds * Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness * Supervise daily shop floor operations * Manage and support a team of operators * Lead training and development of apprentices and trainees, including reviews * Plan ahead to ensure materials, tooling, and documentation are ready for upcoming jobs * Identify production issues and implement effective solutions Requirements * Proven experience in a CNC machining environment * Previous leadership or supervisory experience * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Benefits * Canteen * Company pension * On-site parking
