About the role
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.

You will play a key role in ensuring production equipment and site facilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
This is a hands-on role where you will support both planned and reactive maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of food production machinery Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns to minimise downtime and disruption Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and complete repairs or component replacements Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with health, safety, and food safety standards Maintain a clean, safe working environment at all times Support statutory and regulatory inspections and ensure equipment compliance Work closely with production teams to optimise machinery performance and reliability Support correct machine setup and maintenance of production tools (e.g., blades/knives) Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency projects Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrading of new equipment Support wider site maintenance requirements beyond production equipment Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure smooth delivery of maintenance activities Maintain accurate maintenance records, including breakdowns, repairs, and servicing Manage and update spare parts and inventory records Skills & Experience Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineer role (ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing) Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, xwzovoh pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive, hands-on approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent), though strong practical experience will be considered Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams Experience supporting contractors or external engineers on site Hours 4 on 4 off pattern, 12 hour shifts from 6am
