CNC Sliding Head Setter

A reputable and long‑established machining company in Redditch is seeking an experienced CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator to join their team. This permanent role offers competitive pay and overtime opportunities. The successful candidate for the role of CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator will be responsible for setting and operating CNC sliding head machines, with a key requirement for twin‑turret, twin‑spindle experience. Programming experience is ideal but not essential — however, strong sliding‑head setting/operating experience is required. Duties and responsibilities of CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator: * Set and operate CNC sliding head machines * Work confidently with twin‑turret, twin‑spindle configurations – essential * Carry out basic programming where required (full programming advantageous but not essential) * Focus on production of high-quality components * Maintain tooling, offsets, and machine condition throughout the shift * Occasional simple repeat change overs * Using measuring gauges * To produce components within the agreed standard time * Ability to read and interpret drawings * Working to tight tolerances and in process measurements * High precision tolerance works as well as volume * Quality control, working to customer specification Skills/attributes required by successful candidate for the role of CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator: * Previous experience setting and operating CNC sliding head machines * Twin‑turret, twin‑spindle experience – essential * Attention to detail * Effective communication skills and a team focused approach * Team player, with pride in one’s work and a desire for success * Be adaptable and willing to go the extra mile to meet tight deadlines Location: Redditch, Worcestershire Hours of Work: Afternoon shift OR Day shifts with early Friday finish Monday to Friday Afternoons (2 – 10pm) OR Monday to Friday Days (6am – 2pm or 8am – 4pm, Friday 12:30pm finish) Pay: Up to £16.50 per hour, dependent upon experience Benefits: Workplace pension scheme, Onsite parking, Flexible working hours on Days Contract: Permanent If you have the skills to fulfil the role of CNC Sliding Head Setter/Operator, please APPLY TODAY
